Hi, My father was working in armed forces (Air Force of India) two decades ago. please guide if I need to fill in IMM 5546-Details of Military Service (If Applicable), seems imm 5546 is specially for Military services, not for Armed forces. Thanks.

Thank you for your response ... i tried doing that but its the same. however when I reopen the file it gives me below error

The correct format is
Must be numeric and must not start with '11'

We are not even allowed to change that field

Has anyone figureout how to solve this issue.

I thought I would print it as soon as I validated it, scan it and upload it. However, the guide specifically asked not to print it.

Okay guys .. I found a workaround .. please comments if needed. It seems like the pdf has problem if we select Canada/US telephone or alternate telephone number. There are two options:

• You can keep this section blank and put only email address. Then problem is gone, we am thinking to do this, and explain the situation in the explanation letter. In the explanation letter, my wife (spnsor) will also mention my number with the issue. OR
• You can choose "other" then put 001 in the country code. But in my opinion this is not a proper way, as you can't make a call to 001-(area code)- xxx-xxxx

Please share if you have any better workaround.

Yes, I used guess dates for visit visa application of my mom in 2019 and all accepted.

My dad was sent to work in Africa for two years in 2005. He was with same employer the whole time till retired. In CV, do I have to disclose the location? My concerns is IRCC may requests to provide Africa criminal record for that period which is nearly impossible to obtain. Thank you!

No he is not a dependant so he is not included.

I (sponsor) and my brother are the only two children. I have few follow up questions; online application descriptions are really confusing.

IMM 0008 - Do I need to add myself and/or my brother in Dependents section? While the section is titled as Dependent, the description is really confusing.
IMM 5406 - Do I need to add details for myself (sponsor) and/or my brother?

Hi, can I keep my mother as pricipal applicant, though both are retired, however my dad gets pension and he is literate. I prefer my Mother as Principal, as her name is exactly same in her and my passport, but my Dad's name in his passport is Abdur and in my passport and school leaving and all my documents by mistake is says Abdul, I got OCI, My PR, My moms visit visa, citizenship and passport all with this one letter spelling difference, any suggestions for PGP application would be helpful.

Any guidance pls.

Yes, what I did is: Use "Other", Country code "01" and explain it in the Letter of explanation.

I do not know if your situation and ours are same. Here is our story, in my wife’s case the name of the city where she was born got changed. So her birth certificate, passport, our marriage certificate (so as inlaws’ marrige certificate) do not have the same name as her place of birth. We have used these documents, for my wife’s visitor visa application, her pr application (spousal sponsorship), our parents’ super/visitor visa and many more. To be on safe side we always note the change of city name on an explanation letter and we have never faced any issue so far. She was invited for pgp2022 and we are planning to do the same.

Many thanks for the update. Your situation seems straight forward, in my case the name of the cities didn't change. They are two different cities in the same province.

Not sure how to get this resolved. I spoke to a licensed immigration agent and they said they can do an affidavit for this. Any advice from mods is greatly appreciated..

My situation is the birth city on birth certificate is different than the one on my passport. Both cities are in same country/province

Yes you have to disclose the location,

My mother do not remember date of birth of her sister and brother and we cannot contact them, can I just do guess work?

You should also attach a letter of explanation that says why you don’t have the information needed to fill in the complete date.
