Hi today background status changed from in progress to “Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.”

What does it really mean?

Previously it was “Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check”

Hi All,

It's been more than a week since we uploaded photos on Portal 2 (PR portal), and the content is still under review without any updates. Is this duration normal? I'm curious about the typical timeframe for others, from uploading photos to receiving the ECOPR. Last time, when we responded to an email regarding the PR portal, I had to make a call, and the next day we received the username and password. I'm wondering if a similar call is necessary this time as well. It seems somewhat inconvenient to have to make repeated calls for each step :-/

Hope that you are all doing well and having smooth application progress

I’m wondering if anyone is in the same situation like me. I submitted the PGP for my parents on Nov 2023, however, my mother plans to travel to Canada to visit us, my father is not going with her (they have the visitor visas and have visited us a few times before). I understand this forum is for 2022 application, I’m not sure if it’s ok when my mother is in Canada and provides the documents requested by IRCC such as biometrics or medical? Or she needs to go back to home country to complete those requests? Can my father complete those requests in home country separately?

Your help is much appreciated!

I was aked to submit proof of relationship to my father. I already submitted the birth certificate. I only have an old Indian passport showing his name as my father. IS this good enough? I left India long back and I do not have aadhar card, voter id etc, My school certificates also don't show his name
