I received an email today asking me for their residential address. My in-laws (who we are trying to sponsor) are currently in their country of origin but we had our address as their address on file (as they were here when we initially started their application and technically this is the mailing address as I am their representative). Will this be an issue.
We have also been asked to complete the: Schedule A/IMM5669 (this will be the second time we have been asked for an additional copy of this form - so the third form we would be submitting including the original). This time they have added: "Please review question 6 and declare any refusals +Explanation". We had indicated No to everything in this section on each form before and we don't have anything to declare but the way this is worded it seems like they are looking for something. Has anyone else had this or does anyone know anything about this?

Are you 100% certain there are no visit visa refusals from other countries? Could be anywhere in the world, perhaps ages ago that your parents may have forgotten about?
I called IRCC today to check the status of my parents PR application. Its been two years now I have submitted the application.
They mentioned Principal applicant(Father) background check is still in process where as dependent applicant(Mother) is completed. My father is a retired police officer, anyone have similar situation? do you know the background check is delayed cause he is from police department. or how long it takes for the police officers or govt job holders?

It's not "delayed" because he worked in a govrt job. His background check likely takes longer depending on how fast/good the country that he worked the job to check and share information regardling to his background there.

It depends, they might have sent his file to CSIS/CBSA for secondary screening which could cause delays, like it has for my dad who was in the army for 2 years (non-combat). My mom is the PA for the PGP file, dad is a dependant and only he had to undergo the secondary screening.
I made an ATIP request for my dad's secondary screening file, and I saw that the process took 3 months (May 9 to Aug 8) - it's been over 3 months since it was sent back to IRCC and IRCC still hasn't reviewed it/passed it.

Same situation. Security screening started in Jan 2023 and it is still in progress. Called IRCC several times and got the same responses without an expected time for the process.

What is the status on the GC Key? does it show "Final decision - <DATE> :Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made" ?
