Thanks @Rob_TO. I understand it's advisable to list everyone I would sponsor, not just the Principle Applicant ( the mom). Just for my own knowledge, is this a must from CIC that everyone (PA and family members) on the PR application is listed on the Interests to Sponsor form other than just the PA?
By the way, including dad, the sponsor's income is enough and dad is healthy.
Form states: Your parents’ and grandparents’ information * 5. Provide the names and dates of birth for the parents and grandparents you wish to sponsor.
So as it says, I would list both parents that will go into the app, whether they are accompanying or not. IMO it will be easier to remove someone later on, vs trying to add a parent that wasn't listed in the interest form.
Form does not ask for parents' dependent children.
The thing is that I did not find either proof or non-proof of your words on CIC website. I don't see where they talk about loosing an ability to qualify if the number of dependents change AFTER the lottery application has been submitted. I guess I am going to call the call center this or next week and ask them.
I think stating 5 dependents in the lottery form is not correct if the baby is not born yet.
In meanwhile, if you have a link to cic website with a proof of your words could you please share?
Call centre will be useless, as the official 2018 application package has not even been released yet.
Using family size at time app is submitted, is assuming same as 2017 rules. You can read for yourself directly on the 2017 family size calculation form: https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5768e.pdf
All the questions ask for current family size, meaning using info at time you are filling the app, not from some time in the past.
However if you want to be certain, then just wait and hopefully they release the 2018 application package soon. If this financial evaluation form suddenly changes wording to state "family members at time you filled the lottery web-form" or something like that, then you would not count baby. However if form stays similar to last year then it means they want family size as of time app is actually filled in and submitted..
My parents don't have the last name on their passports (just given name). The web form requires both first name and last name. Could you please suggest what to do in this case? Based on the link below, CIC doesn't accept NA or Not applicable in the first name field (if I put the given name under the last name when submitting the form).
Were you able to sort this out? I have the same issue. My mom doesn't have Surname. In visa application, I was able to leave given name blank, but here both fields are mandatory.

My Question is how the size of family is considered for sponsorship of parent.
2015 : Total of 3 = Family of 2 (husband and wife) + 1 parent to sponsor
2016 : Total of 4 = Family of 3 (husband + wife + Kid born in 2016 ) + 1 parent to sponsor
2017 : Total of 4 = Family of 3 (husband + wife + Kid born in 2016 ) + 1 parent to sponsor
2018 : Total of 4 = Family of 3 (husband + wife + Kid born in 2016 ) + 1 parent to sponsor
will CIC count like above or will they just count 4 for all the years.
You will only include 3 person. for your family size. You count the wife children if she had a child from her previous husband. I assume that does not apply to you.

Your calculation is correct. CIC will count the way you have mentioned.

I don't think that's correct. I think the LICO will be based on family size (including parent to sponsor) at time of application.
So you need that for family of 4 from 2015 onward. If after you submit your application and before the application is final, you have another child, then they will adjust the family size to 5 and so on.
So for the interest to apply form, answer for Q2 is 3 and answer for Q3 is 1.
Family Size Help Please :
I meet LICO requirement for 3 people for 2015, 2016, 2017. We had addition in family (child) in December 2017, so it will be 4 people. Will CIC count Four people for 2015 & 2016 as well or just 3 for 2015 , 2016 and 4 for 2017 ? Thank you guys for any insight !
