I have received an invitation from CIC for sponsorship of parent application
As per the application guide the family size has to include :
1.myself being the sponsor
2. And number of persons that I am sponsoring (which in this case would be my mother)
3. and all dependent family members of that person, wether or not they are accompanying.
I have a brother but he is not dependent on my mother as he has his own family and my father passed away few months ago.
what would be the size thof family for sponsorship
and would I have to include my brother & his dependent family members as they are related to my mother
Needed clarification as I need determine my Minimum income requirement for sponsorship
and would also need to complete the additional dependent form (IMM 0008DEP).
No - you do not include your brother and his family in the count.

Why didn't you check the basic rules on income and family size, before you went ahead and entered the lottery??
HI,
Not sure if anyone has a similar situation. My parent's application number is posted on CIC for 2018 batvh which I think means she was picked to be sponsored. In line with this, I have not received any email confirming the above. Does anyone here with a similar scenario?

I did and since I just wanted to sponsor my widowed mother and technically she does not have anyone dependent financially or physically having a family size of 2 seemed the most logical option to enter the lottery.

If you are single then your family number would be 2.
