When they process your medical they make there decision right away and within few days passport request

My father is a protected person now. It has been more a month his work permit got expired. He has not applied for his PR yet. As he is fixing some documents. Can he extend the work permit now?

Depends on the Visa office and the country of your family residence.
My husband has done medical 6 months ago and still no passport request, his VO is the Ankara.

Today I got REQUEST FOR SUBMISSION OF PASSPORT from Canada Embassy Ankara and I think I'm at the end of this rough journey.
I wish everything goes well for everyone and hope to reunite and meet your dear family sooner.

2021.12.06: Biometric and Medical instruction.
2021.12.14: Biometric done.
2021.12.18: Medical examination done.
2021.12.22: Requested documents sent to Ankara Visa Office.
2022.06.03: Pre-Arrival letter.
2022.06.06: Passport Request.

Really? I do not see it included in the eligible regions.

The pilot project includes 9 regions served by Canadian missions in the following cities:

• Port of Spain
• Sao Paulo
