My wife is a Canadian PR holder and was currently transferred to work in the Toronto (from US) branch starting August 2023. I am working in the US and planning to move to Canada to stay with wife in the coming future. I am currently on a tourist visa and visit her every month by road.

I understand that since we are not living together, we would need to show proof that we communicate regularly. We currently chat using WhatsApp and FaceTime iMessage. Our chats are mostly in English and Hindi.
Given that we only need to show 10 pages worth of history, what chats should we attach along?

1. Can I pick chats from random days and attach them or do they have to be continuous?

2. Do I show the most recent chats or chats after we got married or chats going to the date even before we got married?

On a different note, Do I need to attach any spouse-relationship letter along to strengthen our case?

Any guidance on the above will be appreciated.

For our application we attached chat history from different time points. Just a page or two from a certain year(we have been together for nearly a decade). It doesn't have to be a continuous timepoint/conversation.

Any social media posts/screenshots would be helpful as well(facebook, insta). We used our fb on our desktop with comments/reactions box on pics on the side to highlight our relationship.

If you have taken any screenshot of ur zoom chats that would be useful too.

Lastly, letters of support from close friends and close family members.

Since you visit her by road, pics of you spending time together in canada or her in America would help as well.

Thank you for the response.

Another question. In terms of calls, I'm planning to attach all the call log history from the past 6-7 months. Is that enough or do I also need to show some sort of duration of calls, etc?

Regarding the letters of support, what exactly do these letters look like?

It's somewhat hard for others to answer about specifics because it depends on your relationship and history, etc. Some will need to provide a lot more info, some much less.

Personally my guess - repeat guess - is that you do not need as detailed a call log, and I'd just add a page or two (or even leave out entirely).

The reason I say this is it sounds like you've a fair bit of physical time together. Physical time together - frequency and length - and evidence of that like pictures etc over time - is far superior to evidence you speak a lot. Concentrate on providing facts and evidence.

Some of this is subjective so you'll just have to decide.

Letters of support: any format, any approach. Ask anyone who provides to stick to facts wherever possible. We've known each other since ... . I saw them together [dates, frequency]. I attended [events] with them. I was present at [etc.] It helps if it's clear that the context is one that you/spouse attended as a couple. Verbiage about they can tell how much you love each other is not needed; facts. Nouns and verbs not adjectives.
