I have read a few posts here and there about people who applied outland (Sydney, London, Paris etc) and had their file transferred to Ottawa for processing.
Can anyone confirm if their application was processed relatively quickly. I was suppose to be processed in Paris (8 months) and it was sent to Ottawa (15 months) instead.
I know these time frames aren't entirely accurate, but it would be nice to hear from anyone who has experienced this and gotten an approval (or near approval). Was the wait longer than your original VO?
Ours was meant to be processed in Sydney but got sent to Mississauga.
App. Received by CIC: April 17th, 2014
SA Approval: July 18th, 2014
PPR: August 27th, 2014
Decision Made in ECAS: Today! August 29th, 2014
Sydney wait time was 11 months when we applied (not sure if it's the same now).
We called CIC a few weeks ago to confirm that our application was in Sydney because, when I received my SA, it didn't say anything about which Visa office it was sent to. They confirmed it was being processed in Mississauga, however we received my fiances PPR from the Sydney VO. I'm assuming Sydney did/is doing the final approval.
I read on here that "uncomplicated" cases were being sent to Mississauga, so that's got to be a good thing! Good luck!

Our file was supposed to be sent to Rome Visa Office, but instead they have sent it to Ottawa.
We have no idea why and still waiting. File app was done in April 22nd 2014. If you have any infos or opinions that you'd like to share it could be helpful. Good luck to all of us.
To the OP, our original VO was to be Manila (15 months) instead CIC sent to Hong Kong (7 months) - where my wife is working. In less than two weeks the 7 months will have passed without our file being looked at.

I would be curious to know what "uncomplicated" means to CIC?
Would like to know that too! Often I see people (you gotta be happy for them) doing the woooooohoooooo, having breezed through the system in no time flat, while others, who have filed several months previous in the same VO, are seemingly stuck in "application received" mode - confirmed stagnant or untouched in ECAS.
I think uncomplicated may be that on the first inspection everything is complete, all fees are paid, medical, police check etc etc. I would guess that there are no 'red flags' either and the evidence submitted is of good quality so it will be unlikely that they will need to request anything else. But thats just my guess going by our application! Who knows with CIC though.
