Hello
I know there are a few London, UK applications that have been moved to Ottawa. It seems from the London UK Outland spreadsheet that not much has happened at all to the applications and the current processing time says 16 months.
My question is: we applied in July 2014 and had SA approval August 2014. It seems like it could take more than a year to be approved so what happens to the medical? My assumption was it was only valid for a year. We had our medical done just the week before we submitted the application (July 1 2014).
Will they just request another medical?
The timelines for Ottawa are very frustrating.
Thanks
Oh yes, I forgot to add that we both have to give 3 months notice at work in order to leave. So just wondering what would happen if we are approved within 3 months of the medical expiring?
thanks for any help and I really apologise if this has been covered already.
ottawa's processing time is not 16 month as posted. a general rule for the posted processing times is they represent "worst case scenarios" and a majority of applicants see a much quicker processing time. right now, straightforward applicants in ottawa are seeing a processing time of 6-8 months. most applicants are from the us, though as you know, there are now applicants trickling in from the UK. since this is a relatively "new" trend, it is hard to determine if UK applicants will see a longer processing, though my thought is no.
Right now, Ottawa applicants from JUNE 2014 are getting decision made and approvals, which means if you applied in July, you will probably hear something, if not see your approval, within 1-2 months (by my estimates). We have a spreadsheet to track progress, which is in the blue link in my signature. feel free to add your name to the spreadsheet and pop in the Ottawa thread to talk to other UK applicants with applications in Ottawa.

Incorrect. I presume you are referring to the
Slowest decision made statistic on the London Outland spreadsheet. This statistic is the slowest application
out of the last 20 approvals. You can also see that the fastest application was complete in 1.64 months. These stats are there to give you a quick window in current processing times but are not a true reflection as they are based on only the last 20 approvals.

Nope. That isn't what I meant. It was the processing times on the CIC website for the Ottawa office. If you look at the London Outland spreadsheet there has been maybe two applications from Ottawa that have had DM. The bulk of them have had no progress past SA.

Thanks for the link to the Ottawa spreadsheet though there only seems to be one other person applying from the UK as outland.

right, movement would depend on when they applied. if it was prior to June, then it's a bit odd (and could be dependant on certain requests or the specific application), if it was AFTER June, this is normal, as Ottawa has not had movement on any applications past June 2014.

this is an open spreadsheet, so we count on people adding and updating themselves. the more that do, the more "trends" will start to show themselves. i'd encourage you to add yourself, so we can start seeing what happens with UK applications.
