Did you have the word Shaikh in your application anywhere? maybe they intentionally delay your application or do more security checks becuase of that, you know how paranoid they are after 9/11

Well thats my last name, i don't know. I am waiting for my GMCS to come will know exactly where does the application stands. As for i know they didn't touch my file after October 2011, part of reason could be they asked my wife's Police Clearance Certificate and landing fees in October which i submitted in November 2011. You know when application is not complete, it takes longer than usual because officer incharged of application starts working on next application until requested documents are submitted or when he/she really wants to open that application again.. it totally depends on officer so you never know. Well i got my student visa in 2008 from Pakistan, it didn't took too long because of my last name though!!
Where does it say that? can you send me the link please. Because they established central processing centre in sydney since February 2011, which transferes cases to VO after first review based on their backlog i don't think there will be huge cases transfered to Ottawa, as they already knew back then that buffalo immigration section soon will be closed.
I couldn't say "in process" is a good indicator, "Medical Results have been received" is somehow better clue, usually it is between 2 months to 6 months from the medical.
Hmmmm, sent an email to Otttawa, and I received the Delivery and read notifications, but they didn't answer. Usually I used to receive a reply from them right after the read notification. My mind tells one of two:
- My file is not yet at Ottawa. However the eFile should be on the system, and they don't need to wait for the paper application.
- Ottawa is turned to be like Buffalo (and i don't want to believe that).
I hate it when I have nothing to do to change things but waiting.

9 months is way too much, Did you get a GCMS? Have you travelled alot in the last 3 months? most probably it is stuck with the security or background check.

Most March applicants have not receiver PPR and most of us have had our status changed to IN PROCESS within a week! It has been 15 months waiting for me ...
