I just wanted to add our information to this thread.
We were called to Ottawa on July 29th, 2014. My spouse had to take the Citizenship Test and got 100%. I didn't have to take it as I had just turned 55 but had to present my documents and have a mini interview with an agent.
Having read different postings on various forums, there doesn't seem to be a pattern for when people get their invitation to take the oath after passing the test.
Before the test everyone was informed that they should hear about taking the oath within 1-3 months. The only thing to me that seems to be consistent is that once you get the letter you have 2-3 weeks before you actually take the oath.
Our timeline is....
Application Received Feb 4th, 2013
Started Processing April 9th, 2013
Citizenship Test / Verification of ID July 29th, 2014
Now we just have to sit and wait to hear something. I check the ecas on a daily basis. Wouldn't it be nice though if their system could send you and email when your file was updated.
I checked the CIC website this morning and saw this message
We sent you a notice on August 20, 2014 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on September 17, 2014 at 9:00 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
I am assuming it will be in Ottawa, but will telephone Monday morning to confirm as we will have to arrange a hotel for the night before as we live over 3 hours drive away from Ottawa.
I also noticed that there is nothing listed for Ottawa in September Ontarioan, but I hope you get some good news soon!
I just spoke with the CIC Call Centre and our Oath Ceremony is at the Ottawa office on Catherine Street, although there are no ceremonies listed on their website at this location yet for September.
So, has anyone who took their test in July received an invitation to take the oath this coming week. There are about a dozen ceremonies scheduled for next week in Ottawa.
