I would advise you to go on Friday if you would be lucky to get your certificate.
Would be better if it was a collective move tbh. Many ppl are waiting from October and the office still in a shit show
Someone should email the link to this thread to Ottawa office so that they know how badly they are impacting everyone. May be then they'll have some shame and will finally start working on the applications.
IRCC should only charge the application fees once the application has been processed. Only then people working at IRCC will get to work. They charge the fees upfront and it is kind of free money for them.
Guys we had the oath today. There were 60 participants and it was a bilingual ceremony which lasted two hours. The GREAT news is that they advised us all that we could pick up our certificates from the IRCC office this Friday - otherwise they would mail them out on Monday and should take 1-2 weeks.
WHAT?!!!! That's amazing news!!! They are allowing for "urgent" processing and letting everyone pick up certificates a few days after oath in the office?!! Wow!! That is such amazing news! I hope they have caught up from the big backlog and can now stay on top of things and actually do what they say - mail it out a week after oath. Very happy to hear. Now to see if they can follow through.
Update: Just read some of the follow up comments about still not sending out the certificates from Nov/Dec 2021. That really sucks. Hopefully they will work on that backlog quickly and get it completed ASAP. Really sad that they have still not finished sending out the certificates from 2021 oaths!

Good recommendation! You might not get it, but at least you can show them how backwards it is that an oath in March can pick up their certificates the same week of oath (which is great news for all those who haven't had oath yet!) but that someone from October, November and December 2021 still doesn't have their oath certificate yet. Hopefully they can help you, and it'll remind them that they still have the big backlog to work on ASAP!

I would like to show up in person on Friday, do you have nay appointment from them or just show up in front of 235 Queen street.

Did they mention any time when to go in person?
Has anyone with their ceremony in December at the Ottawa office received the certificate ?

That's is a great news...I had Oath yesterday with Niagara office and they didn't give an option to pick up in person.
Hello
March 08, 2022 - Oath completed ( Niagara office)
Mar. 09, 2022 - Citizenship Oath activity updated to completed
Mar. 09, 2022 - Citizenship application closed
Waiting for the Citizenship Certificate.
I thought I had to wait for confirmation?
Do what you feel most comfortable with - I just know that I never got a reply and went ahead and did the test - I am waiting for the oath now. Good luck!

Can you please let us know here once you pickup your certificate? Just so that we know IRCC Ottawa is actually doing what it says it will do.
Called IRCC today and was told my certificate was finally printed but yet not posted. Ceremony was December 15th and asked the guy on the phone multiple times to confirm if it was actually printed. Having said that, I’d still take it with a grain of salt. But if the certificate was printed then that means they are working through the backlog at last. Online file still open and says in process.
