Two questions on opposite sides of the process, haha.
I am sponsor, fiance is American. Getting married in Dec. Applying outland.
Im looking at Feb or Mar 2016 for my application date. For the Option C, at what point would I have to submit 2015 instead of 2014? I know that area of time is tax season, so am I going to be screwed by a late T4 or will I be able to submit 2014? At what point does the last taxation year become 2015?
Also, after getting COPD and moving to Canada, can he work immediately if a job comes up? Or does he need to wait for other documents?

I applied at end of April 2015 and I hadn't received by 2014 tax assessment, so of course I used 2013 Option C and got the Sponsorship Approval. Don't worry about it.
From what i have read, yes he can work immediately (pending that he right away applies for his SIN Card.) They will give his SIN # right away so he can give that to the employer.

Yep, I second all this. I sent my Option C in March for 2013, no problem. When you land, the immigration officer activates your COPR. S/he either signs or stamps it. You just take that to the Service Canada office along with your passport and get your SIN immediately. He can start working that day if he likes.
BTW you no longer get a SIN card, you get a SIN paper. So keep the paper safe, it's not just a temp thing. I think I almost used my husbands as a coaster.

Mine is in a small town as well and it was busy that day. I had about 30-40 minute wait. Then we went to file my taxes. The lady's like 'SIN please." So I handed her the paper and said 'I don't have it memorized, I got it ten minutes ago.' She laughed.
