I have submitted an application for permanent residency via the Common-Law Partner in Canada class at the end of December 2018. Along with this application, I also submitted an application for an Open Work Permit, however I already have a restricted Work Permit due to being sponsored by my long time employer allowing me to work in Canada. Does anyone know if having this prior work permit will assist in expediting the new Open Work Permit application in a more timely fashion? Thanks

No - it won't make a difference. The open work permit has nothing to do with your existing work permit - it's tied to the PR application. Expect the open work permit to be approved in about four months from the time your application was received.
