I am on a closed work permit and currently my PR is in progress. Currently status of the PR is that only security check is remaining and rest everything is passed.
I wanted to if can apply for an open work permit at this stage and point in time? I believe due to covid PR is going to take long time now and it is really hard to work in a closed work permit. Need guidance please. Thanks.

You may qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit. It's a specific Open Work Permit for people that's in Canada with a PR application in progress and holds a valid work permit (closed or open), please check the requirements according with your type of PR application in this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio.../extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html
