I moved to Canada on an open work permit through a pilot program for H1B visa holders. Meanwhile, my wife received her PR approval, and my work permit extension is currently in progress.

I am considering submitting an application for spousal PR. However, I read on a forum that applying for PR may include an open work permit, and it’s advisable to wait if another open work permit application is already in progress.

Could you suggest the best strategy in this situation?"

You would be included under her PR application. So once you have AOR you can submit, an OWP application.

But you were a PR back in 2023. What happened?

And at one point your spouse was a PR as well and you were in Indian.

Hi Team,

I hold an H4 visa of USA on behalf of my husband he stays in USA on H1B. I am on Canadian PR and working in Canada. We are looking to move together some where in USA and I will be coming to Canada daily for my work and will be staying in USA.
Wanted to check
  1. Is there any legal implication which can hamper my PR status ?
  2. And how is it going to impact the days count for my citizenship eligibility ? As I will spending my nights outside Canada .
Please suggest
