Hi Folks,
I'm on ICT and my wife is in the open work permit. Due to covid my position is not available at present in Canada, we haven't landed in Canada and currently in the home country. Since my wife has the open work permit, is it possible for her to travel and work in Canada? please advice.

Open work permit holders without job offer cannot travel during restrictions. You need to have job offer letter or contract from one of the employer.

If she has written authorization to travel with her open work permit, she can enter Canada, quarantine and then look for work.

Hi, Did your spouse land in Canada already? Were there any issues at the Port of entry while she travelled with just the open work permit. Thanking you in advance.

Just carry it and it’ll be good.CBP officers reserve the right to verify anytime if they choose to do so.
