My wife has open work permit which is valid till February 2021 and so I got the open work permit with the same validity. We are in Canada now.
Can we extend our work permit?
If yes, who should extend it? Me or my wife?
My wife studied in Canada, 2 year PGD course and has 2 years of work experience in Canada. I moved here from the USA.
Do wee need job offer for extension? Is there any other requirements to be eligible?

One of you would need to secure a job offer and the employer would need to obtain an approved LMIA to extend. The LMIA process is long and expensive for the employer and it's generally difficult to find employers who are willing to do this. Would recommend you start these discussions with your employer now.

The only way that would be possible is if you have already applied for PR and your application is in progress and you've received AOR or a provincial nomination. Otherwise you need an LMIA.
