congrats on stamping. I am also planing to go in person. I know consulate is located in downtown, what you recommend going by car or take subway. what is visa category, is it visit visa or what is visa type on the sticker they put on passport.

Hi guys,
I went to Buffalo and had my visa stamped in person today. It was quick and smooth like some of our friends on here have noted before. I went up @ 0730 and was out by 0830 with visa and COPR in hand. If you plan to go in person, I would say try and get there early because there may be a crowd. I was lucky to be among the first to be admitted but there was a room full of folks waiting when I left.
I plan to move permanently to Alberta before June (Visa is valid until November).
Thanks again to all of you who offer not just helpful info but also encouragement on a regular basis.
To those still waiting, Godspeed to you...your day is coming.
I will update the forum when I take the next big step.
Thank you!
It's in the downtown. Go by car. There is pretty cheap parking in front of the consulate (I guess $8 parking - at least till last August)
Then walk in the building to the first floor. There you will see the Canada Consulate staff. They will ask you the reason of your visit and give you the que number/token accordingly and will then advise you to go to the main Consulate floor.
Once you are at the main floor, you will stand in the que or sometime they call PR applicant seperately and take them to different floor for stamping.
Good luck
