Decission made does not mean they have sent the passport back. The visa sticker will be printed and put on your passort and dispatch department will take a week or two to send the passport back to you. Dont worry it will be on its way soon.

I have Insurance from StateFarm and I will check with them. It came to my knowledge that you need "Canadian non-resident insurance card" if you are going temporairy, which you get either from rental company or your insurance agent.

As far as address is concern for health card, I have both calgary and toronto address, but again since I am going to toronto and not planning to visit alberta this time, I was thinking may be if I can apply health card in Ontario. So if I go and provide them Calgary Address(friend's address) will they issue me card for alberta...??????? It's confusing I probably should try this or if anyone landed in Ontario applied health card there and later moved to Calgary, please shed some light

Statefarm will give you a temporary card. You dont have to tell them that you are immigrating to Canada, just tell them you are visiting Canada and you will be set.

Any advise on photos? I am checking old posts too. I am going to take cashier chque for 490$+490$ only for RPRF as King80 said. (I am not sure what is 550$ and 150$ that they mention in www.newyork.gc.ca)

I would suggest you use Alberta address at the port of entry in Ontario.

FYI - Regarding the health card, In Alberta you are eligible for health and medical treatment from day one where as in provinces like Ontario, BC, NB there is a 3 month waiting period.

Other friends who landed thru Ontario can shed more light on applying the health cards.

I agree with Avalap. You better provide Alberta address for PR cards to avoid complications in future.

Having been on this forum for a while, my advice to the new comers ( zorro et al), ignore these comments. Like somebody mentioned before, someone here is suffering from a multiple personality disorder, and seems like they have all the time in the world to create zillions of new user ids and post unwarranted comments. Their only aim is to stir up trouble.They will say anything for a little bit of attention. Just ignore them and focus on what is important for you, and the reason you are in this forum.

And yes, like jxjy01 mentioned, there are also good people on this forum, who have gone out of their way to support and help others. This forum has helped me to anticipate and prepare for what is coming next. Without this forum, I would be lost. If I can return this favour to the newcomers or anybody else who needs help, I will only be too glad to do so.

My ecas is still in "we started processing your application on November 4, 2010."

My address disappeared two weeks ago, then it came back at the following week.

What does your ecas status shows. My timeline is similar to yours, only the change which I notice was my address link got disappered.

They may not scan your tracking number at all, at least for my case. Once you see "decision made" in your status, return mail will normally be dispatched within 2 to 5 days, so be prepared for mail delivery.

If you are trying to influence your decission based on a guy who was asking someone to share his gas expense and the guy who can fit his whole life into a car, then you are doing a mistake. Canada has more stable Finance and Banking system then the US.

You got to take your decission based on your potential and not by someone who is trying to scare others so that there is less competition for him.
