I would say it depends on the situation and following factors. If you are confident that you people can move to Canada before delivery of the baby, you can plan to do that. But if you can't make that, then it would be better to let know CIC about this and It will definitely delay the process till you have your new born and furhter process on the new born.

hi all,
I am new to this forum. My file is transferred from buffalo to new york on 5th Jan 2011. And I am waiting for reply from new york office. My wife is pregnant now should I inform about this to new york office or should I not?Can anyone help me?
If I may share my PP info with you, Buffalo received my PP on March 7, with USPS self addressed prepaid Express service envelop enclosed. I still haven't received my passport back. And judging from other readings, it seems like Buffalo is taking about 3-5 weeks to return passport. It certainly will be 3+ weeks for since the USPS tracking still doesn't show any activity on my return prepaid express envelop. For me next Monday will be 3 week.
If you are in a hurry, so far it seems like the best choice is in person passport drop off for visa stamping. You get it back the same day. Wish I had done the same.

thank you did you send your passport?
do you know how long it would take them to return it?
I'm sorry that I haven't posted anything here for a long time. I have been really busy with my work and all I could do for the forum was to update our timeline spreadsheet (I'm sure almost all of us know about the spreadsheet, but if you don't, here's the link: "CIC Timeline Tracker" maintained by me and vsrao).
I'll still visit this thread and keep the spreadsheet updated till all of us here get PPR and visa stamp!
