Normal.... though got a fingerprint request last Feb. When I called IRCC last year in first week of March - a week before lockdown - agent told me that my file is ready for test and I should have invite in next couple of weeks. But then came pandemic...
As a recommendation I think the columns test invite/test date and DM should be split in 2: before and after covid.
That way we can see how thing are progressing...
Up until I took a picture of my ID and of myself, my camera light was on. Then, when I started the test itself, I noticed that my camera turned off and there was this box (that could be moved) on the screen which I think was supposed to show the image from my camera. It turns out that this box was just blank, as if my image was not being captured by the camera.
Has anyone experienced the same? Are we supposed to see ourselves in that box while taking the test?
I am concerned that they might think I turned off my camera on purpose or something.
Test Invitation : 14th Dec
Test Written : 31st Dec
Decision made : 23 Jan
Oath Invitation - Awaited
So far we were lucky not to have any interview / Docs request. I think this could be mainly because we had physical presence well above the 1095 threshold and have already provided all the documents and passport pages with the certified translation where required. (I don't know how IRCC works but this is just my thought)
I suspect:
1. To verify my identity (I think my driver's license with signature was not stable in the picture at the time of the test) and 2. To verify my travel history (my work required me to travel almost 180 days a year, which I curtailed in the last 2.5 years to meet Citizenship days requirements). I am sure there is nothing wrong in the travel history data I submitted, so I am confident everything will come through, Insha'Allah
Congrats! Lucky you . I applied In May 2019 and my status is still In process which was started in september 2019. Haven't got any update ( other than the usual reply ) from them despite contacting them via webform and phone call. I am losing my patience now, it's been almost two years . Is there anyone else in the same boat?
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Nope. My last update was the original test invite before the covid cancellation. It didn’t even change after I got my decisions made and getting the virtual oath invite.

No new line for the DM update. The only reason I knew about the change from IP to DM was that I had been checking everyday. So, right next to my line about the original in person test the status says DM.

It specifically says it has to see you all the time I did my test today too and yes I could see my self being recorded. If you camera did not capture your face then they might deem it cheating. So contact them asap.

Don't get panic.. it wasn't supposed to record you while taking the test. rather, it was supposed to take pics in between during the test that it's you who is taking and no assistance is provided.. you should be all good.. so, don't worry.

Report it via their reporting system, there are ways to do so. My guess is if they can see your initial photo and id they will ask for an interview or worse case ask you to retake it, in which case try find another web cam/computer to do it on. There is a chance even that the photos during the test were take fine and the issue was in displaying the feed to your browser.
