Applied about 10 months ago through my employer in Ottawa and still waiting on Pre-approval to be processed.
My post graduate work permit expires in less than 6 months so I am extremely worried.
Any of you know how long it might take? After the pre-approval is processed do you get the certificate right away? What are my other options to stay here after my post graduate work permit expires?
I am currently working and do not want to quit or head back ;_;

This is strange indeed. My employer got approved in less than 60 days, maybe because it's a public company. (Applied in July-August 2014)
I would recommend to follow up with them and see why it's taking so long for the pre-approval to be issued.

I know, I am stressed because of this new express entry system that has no provision anymore to bridge work permits unless you get selected!
Do you know if pre-approval means that you get your nomination certificate right away? Or do I have to get my pre-approval then wait for my nomination certificate again?

No, the pre-approval just allows you to send documents in order to apply for the nomination. It still takes them an eternity to issue the nomination. I got my company and position approved in Sept of 2014, and I am still waiting for the nomination. Also just called the OPNP office, they gave me a half-ass answer as usual, "please e-mail us". No sense of doing that either because it takes them 2-3 months to answer e-mails as well.
In addition, they had issues with auditors recently. I think that because of all these factors all applications are being processed more thoroughly and slowly. However, there is chance that we will be put in Express Entry stream.
We can apply in express entry for sure, there are two ways to get into express entry through PNP.
First we create profile for express entry and then province selects us for nomination
second is we get out PNP nomination first then create express entry profile.

I have the same problem....Submitted my application under the International Graduate Stream in October 2014 and still nothing....It's been almost 120 days and now I'm very concerned
