On Closed WP, can i apply for new Job?

Hi,

I am in Closed WP which says that WP is valid with specific employer.
- Can i start looking for new Job?
- If yes, then every job says that candidate should be eligible to work in Canada. In this case , am i eligible to apply for new job/employer?
- do i need to convert to open WP to get to new job?


Please suggest

- Yes, you can certainly look.
- You are not eligible to work in Canada for any employer since you are on a closed work permit.
- You can't convert your closed work permit to an open work permit. If you want to work for a new employer, that employer needs to obtain an LMIA and then you need to obtain a new closed work permit.

Yes - you should make it clear that the employer will need to obtain an LMIA and you'll require a new work permit.
