Hi
I have a query and confusion. My mother has a US visa on her passport till 2016 but her passport was expiring in 2011. She renewed her passport and now has both passports but old one is stamped as cancelled. Can she travel to US with her visa on old passport or she need a new visa as her old passport is expired and new one do not have visa.
Please advice me on this
Thanks in advance
Sachin
Sachin,
She can carry her old passport with the valid US Visa along with her new passport. My mom is in the US with her old and new passport, with valid Visa in her old passport....
Cheers

Thanks mperei02 for your advice. You have cleared my big confusion. I am never interested to ask anything from a Immigration consultant as they stand nowhere when I see this forum.
Thanks and regards
Sachin
Welcome Sachin, my Mom went to US on 16 of November...Cheers...
I had asked US Embassy in Melbourne the same question, they said valid Visa in expired passport is accceptable, they will not issue same Visa in new Passport..unless fresh application is made..
On other hand Australian embassy issues old visa in new passport for free...
Cheers
Manny
