This is what the latest update on OINP website states:

January 23, 2017

IMPORTANT NOTICE

RE: French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has launched a new online application process to make it easier to apply to the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and to help improve processing times for applicants.

Our ministry is committed to improving its application and business systems with a focus on enhancing client service. Additional online application systems are being developed over the coming months.

Visit our French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream Frequently Asked Questions webpage for more information.

Please refer to the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream Application Guide for further details on this stream

Please monitor the OINP updates webpage for news, announcements and new developments in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.

Ontario is dedicated to celebrating and furthering the 400 years of Francophone culture in our province, and we are working towards meeting the Ontario Immigration Strategy’s goal of five per cent Francophone immigration.

In November 2016, members of the Group of Experts on Francophone Immigration submitted a report to help guide our efforts and resources to increase Francophone immigration to Ontario.

We have already started to implement some of the recommendations, with an early focus on international promotion and attraction.

Note: If you received a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario before January 23, 2017, you may submit a paper application to the OINP by mail. For instructions on how to submit a paper application and to access the application form and corresponding Application Guide, please click here . If you received a NOI after January 23, 2017, you must submit your application online.

A good thing is that they have switched to the online system, however, the down side is that there is still no news on when do they plan to send EOIs. Moreover, the notice states that additional online application systems are being developed over the coming months, which suggests that the programme may not open anytime soon as they want to open only when they have developed their online application systems.

What do you guys think?

My two cents (Canadian) ;D

Consider this point - on 12th they said that temporary pause from IRCC is still on. However, the latest update does not says the same. Even Nov 28th update also referred to the pause.

So from my point of view, it is positive. They will move to online for all type of applications. Enterprenuer stream was made online in August 2016. Now, French speaking has been made online.

If you read the Jan 12th update, there was no information about the switch to online about the french speaking. It appears to me that they have got the 2017 quota and they will switch to online system for stream by stream.

Do browse this site daily for the latest. I do hope that Human Capital stream will open in March 1st week. By that time, federal govnt will have minimum three draws. It will bring the score down to 440 level and then they will release the new cut-off.

Makes perfect sense...i'd say its worth 2 dollars (Canadian) ;)

Let me assure you that you wont need an OINP and you would be through to ITA either tomorrow or in the next draw.

I have checked that guide and Ontario has finally entered the 21st century. Now payment with credit card is there. ;)

Online means online....it cant be half hearted.... ;D ;D ; :P :P

Wowwww!!! The biggest pain for me on the OINP process was getting that stupid Canadian Bank Draft... This was a much needed improvement over the old system.

Same for me. Lost an hour in the bank explaining what I wanted.

Hahahahha... Only ONE hour??? I lost countless days at various banks in Brazil... At the time I had an account at HSBC and couldn't understand WHY they just could get their Canadian arm to issue me a bank draft.

Eventually I got a friend of mine that lives in Calgary to get a Bank Draft from his bank, courrier over to me, I attached it to my package and couriered back to Canada! Not to mention the hours praying that Brazilian customs wouldn't find the 'hidden' bank draft in the couriered documents (BOTH WAYS!!).

Nah my friend... I lost weeks running and worrying after this, you had it easy! :P
