I have a visitor/tourist visa, but never used it/visited Canada. How to answer this question?

Do you have legal immigration status in Canada? Yes/No? Legal status is conferred upon you by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or the Canada Border Services Agency through the issuance of an immigration document (for example, a visitor record, work permit, study permit, etc.)

Greetings everyone,

I wanted to check regarding work experience in EE vs OINP. I got my NOI recently and currently working on my application.

In my EE profile, I have only shown the work experience that aligns with my primary NOC. The total work experience shown in EE profile is more than 3 years.
In my OINP- Human Capital Priorities Stream- FSW application, I am showing all my past work experience in 10 years, including, primary NOC jobs and also, the other work experience.

I have the following questions:
  1. Is this the right approach to fill both EE profile and OINP application i.e. only primary NOC work experience in EE profile and all work experiences in OINP?
  2. I have also recently changed jobs after getting my NOI. Should I include the new job in my OINP application and EE profile?
  3. If I have a short gap between jobs (i.e about a month), should I add this gap in the OINP- Activities section and additionally, upload a Letter of Explanation(LOE)?

Please kindly advise. Thank you in advance. :)
in EE, it mandatorily only needs you to be in primary NOC currently or at least a year in the last 3 years for 12 month. But that doesn't mean you don't have mention other work experience, you will gain points for other work experience as long as they all fall under valid NOC codes in the list. Which is what most of us did.
On your questions
1) All wok expereinces should be given
2) New job yes has to be updated both in EE and submitted to OINP, that way when IRCC now or OINP call your past or current employer what the employer (HR or Manager) tells them will be in inline with your application
3) in Canada none cares about gaps even less about those that are one month. As long as your experience letters, the details in the application and what employer personnel tell IRCC/OINP you should be good.

isn't the tourist visa a visitor record?

Hi. I found this info on the official website.
What’s the difference between a visitor visa and a visitor record?
A visitor visa (also known as a temporary resident visa) is an official document citizens from visa-required countries need to get to travel to and enter Canada as a visitor for up to 6 months.
  • We stick the visitor visain your passport.
    • It shows that you meet the requirements to enter Canada.
  • It includes the date by which you must arrive in Canada.
    • The date is not an expiry date for your stay in Canada.
  • If you apply for a study or work permit for the first time, you’ll automatically get a visitor visa when we approve your application.
A visitor record is a document that a border services officer may issue to you to extend or restrict your stay in Canada. If you want to stay in Canada for more than 6 months, you have to tell the border services officer.
You may also get a visitor record after we approve your application to extend your stay or restore your status. A visitor record is issued either by the Canada Border Services Agency or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

You need to apply for a visitor record when:
  • you first arrive at the port of entry and you know you want to stay longer than 6 months; or
  • you’re in Canada and decide you want to stay longer.
    • You must apply at least 30 days before your authorized stay in Canada expires.
  • It’s an independent document (not placed in your passport).
  • It includes an expiry datefor your stay in Canada.
    • That’s the date by which you must leave Canada.

Hello,

When preparing the Proof of Funds letter, if the bank refuses to include statements such as 'No credit card debts or loans' due to legal restrictions, instead, they state that the "Account is Active and in Good Standing", would this raise any concerns for OINP (Human Capital Priorities Stream- FSW) application?

Thank you in advance. :)

Hi, where did you find that the bank statement required to have the "No credit card debts or loans" phrase? on the official OINP website I only found the following:

  • Scan and upload statements of accounts for investments such as fixed term deposits and/or mutual funds.
  • You also need to scan and upload a letter from the financial institution. The letter must confirm that the funds are available, and the investments can be liquidated or redeemed on instructions and at what value. - this one is only required if you upload an investment account info

Hi,
Yes I got confused a little. I was trying to be in accordance with IRCC requirement. But for OINP, it is not needed.

can I change my NOC code from Database analyst to Data scientist after receiving NOI from Ontario? I haven't submitted my OINP application yet.

Hi,

For OINP, only primary applicant is required to share ECA result or accompanying Spouse too??
Primary Applicant : PEBC
Accompanying Spouse : WES

Thanks.
