Concerning the "Application/Profile Updated", After research I found out that it can be a couple of things, system refresh, an officer working on the application and signs of final results. Thus, hold on tight. Also, congrats on getting your school in the Covid readiness list, that's a step ahead!
Hey guys, I just got a ghost update :
We are reviewing the results of your medical exam.
Even though I did not submit medical exam with my application, will they request me to do one now?

I applied for a study permit with no medical upfront on October 22, and I received the biometric letter on October 23. I did my biometrics on October 25.
Only a few days before, my eligibility review started (12 of November to be exact). I’m asking how long will it take them to get back to me plus should I do the medical exam? or should I order gcms notes?
I"m on Employment pass visa in singapore. so I have to work full time to keep my visa status and I don't wanna go back to my home country as i'm not sure if i'll get access to an proper internet connection + situation is getting bad there so probably i'll not be able to get a flight to travel to canada.
so i'm working full time from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm and then lectures starts at 9 pm till 3 am. exhausing

oh!! That's crazy!! But yea, with Visas, this is the thing! You can't help it. I faced the same anxiety when I had my US visa application, which although approved, took a long time!
Hopefully the Canada Visa comes soon

That is impossible to answer. Some people have been waiting over 10 months and they are still waiting. If you are applying for Fall 2021, you are probably ok, if for Winter 2020, you would be extremely lucky to get a study permit approved and your institution also needs to be on the DLI covid ready list.
You should check the message you received for that. In case of Biometrics, it says, which ever VACs most convenient to you, similarly, I would assume, whichever approved examiner is convenient to you should do the job.
On a different note, Guys in India, VACs are open with limited services and will begin biometrics for Study permits from 2nd December.
Good Luck
