Any tip on when is the best time to contact Ircc contact centre? I tried calling at 9:30am EST and the automated message stated that all agents are busy and try calling another time.
8 am EST worked for me most of the time. But you have to try many times till it goes through or they give you a callback option.

Hi, when did your LPP get completed?

Updated Timeline:

I just got invited to write the test ! :)

Type: Paper application
Location: London, Ontario
Physical Presence Days: 1517
Application: Single/Family(number of family members): Single
Application sent: Oct 30, 2024
Delivered: Nov 6, 2024
AOR: Nov 19, 2024
Background Completed: Jan 15, 2025
Test Invitation: Feb 10, 2025
Test period: Feb 12- March 14, 2025

Can anyone confirm if this is a closed book test, or can we use the Study Guide/notes during the 45-minute test period? or are they very sensitive to any head movement during testing?

In the invitation email it states that:

" ➢Since this is an individual exam, you are not permitted to consult other people or any source of external information (including but not limited to the Internet, notes, or a copy of the Discover Canada guide) while completing the test."

Can someone please help me interpret "including but not limited" portion of this point.

Thanks

Closed book. Don't look away from the screen.

"including but not limited to" means "what we said (no other people and no other sources) before applies, and as an example of something not included... [Discover Canada, internet, or notes]"

It will be closed book. I just took the test on 1/31/2025 and passed it 20/20. I suggest you read thru Discover Canada by at least once and take some notes re: important years and names and try to recite them by heart.

Aiso I used this Richmond Hill Library citizenship practice test https://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/

And Toronto library citizenship prep test https://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/new-to-canada/citizenship.jsp.

They are very useful. Hope it helps.

During the exam your camera will record you and better not move, keep your position while taking the exam.

Called IRCC to get an update on my application but got a stubborn incompetent DEI hired on the phone who had no idea what is routine or non routine application. It’s so frustrating to wait on the phone for more than 45 min just to get these incompetent individuals who has no clue about their job. I see that people got good responses calling IRCC and getting more info on their application. Is there a specific time that I should try to may be get a decent rep who knows what they are doing?? because I’m so sick of these incompetent losers..

It’s purely by chance.

That’s what I’m thinking. Will try again tomorrow morning to see if I can get more info on my application. Montreal office seems to be either sleeping or not working at all because every other office is clearing out applications but Montreal seems to be stuck and not moving forward. Not sure why applications from maritimes go to Montreal office Instead of Toronto or Ottawa
