October 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Hey Everyone,

I filed my citizenship application on 24th Oct 2024 and background verification done on 16th Dec 2024. Since then i am waiting for next steps. I called IRCC a week ago to check on the status , however they checked my file and said no additional documents required at this time and asked me to continue monitor my email for test invitation with no ETA mentioned. Is anyone on similar boat ? Do you know why they are taking so long ?

I just can’t imagine what elections have to do with it. They can’t be getting paid to do nothing.

Cbsa is what we only need or ircc as well

In my experience, the CBSA response is a superset of the IRCC response.

I just can’t imagine what elections have to do with it. They can’t be getting paid to do nothing.

tbh not sure if it does but in the absence of any information or logic to this process, i'm just guessing. does seem weird that things feel stalled.

I have my oath scheduled for May 2nd, but I haven’t received any email or invitation yet. How many days before the oath date I should expect to receive it?

I just call IRCC and they told me that my background is ongoing and prohibition is not started yet, Language and Presence were done. (while my daughter prohibition was done). But last time when I called the agent told me that bg is done. I guess that I have to wait at least 2 months to finish

You should receive it by end of day Friday. If not, give them a call next Monday.

I've seen some people saying they are under comprehensive security (34A) based on their GCMS notes.
However, my notes from CBSA under the security's sub activities is showing:
Type: CIT CSIS Screening
Status: Pending Results

What it means? Is it comprehensive check? It's been in this stage since early December 2024.
Criminality is already passed.

Who did you "apple" GCMS notes from? IRCC or CBSA?

I would advise requesting from CBSA if you only requested via IRCC.
