My fingerprints were received for me and my wife in the 4th of January. My background check was completed right after, but my wife hasnot been. Does anybody have any idea?

I have a Nigerian and American Passport. I got my PR via my American passport. I only use my Nigerian passport when I visit Nigeria and I have done that twice in the last 5 years preceding my application. In the course of my travels I have visited UK using my American passport and travelled to Nigeria with just my Nigerian passport then re-entered US/Canada. My travel history seems to be all over the place. I have been asked to submit all the pages of my passport. At some point I have entered Canada with just my US passport (did not show my PR status). The last time I re-entered Canada, the officer said I overstayed my "visit". It was not until I showed him my PR card I was let in.

What should I do to simplify this? Should I write a letter explaining my travel history.

PS: I only included my my American passport pages initially, now I am including both.

Yes, just go to the webform inquiry page and select add a document to an existent application. There just select to submit an attachment where it's better to include scanned copies of all stamped pages of all passports along with bio pages. I would also specify that your PR status was active so you did not break any law in the letter. Good luck!

I would add to the above response by asking to also consider having a letter detailing of all your travel history with both passports (in a way that is better understandable for the reader) in a table format within the letter- can have a 1 liner cell for each travel in line with the original application template. Thus, making it easier for the officer reviewing your file to close it easily.

That makes sense. I’m working on creating a diagram/table that specifies which passport was used upon entry and exit.

I’ve not responded to the email yet. Was thinking of including an explanation letter along with passports request. I’m just tabulating it in an infographic way to make it easier perhaps for the poor officer who will have to cross reference it.

Congratulations!!! I have the exact timelines as you; however, I still have not received any oath update! Hopefully soon!

my wife has a similar timeline with LPP being done one day earlier, Mississauga office. No news of oath yet.
