Hey guys,

I am still preparing myself and my wife to this test :). We are going to take this between 04 Dec - 02 Jan.

I have a question: in this test invite, it is saying that "You will be provided up to 3 attempts to pass the test within 30 days of the test start date.". So I can take 3 tests until 02 Jan, any time I want during this period?

There are total 3 attempts. Not within the same test window. If you don't pass you have to wait for the second invite which may take anywhere between 1-3 months and even if you don't pass that there would be another test with an officer. You can give the test any time within the test window.

Oh i did not know that if we failed first time we have to wait for another invite,, i thought we can take 3 attempts within that 30 day window... we actually passed in first attempt but i was less worried taking the first one as i thought there is 2 more chances

Thank you for the info. I didn't understand it this way, it says " 3 attempts to pass the test within 30 days of the test start date." it doesnt sound like that. That's good to know, thank you

Ok this not accurate
i am seeing the below in canada official site Link

If you fail the test
You have up to 3 chances to pass the test (whether online or on Microsoft Teams or in person).

If you fail the test 3 times, we’ll invite you to a hearing with a citizenship official. At the hearing, we’ll orally ask you questions that are similar to those on the citizenship test.

If you pass the hearing, we’ll continue processing your application.

If you fail the hearing

  • we’ll refuse your application
  • you need to reapply and pay the fees again if you still want to become a citizen
