If your BGC says "in progress", you probably already passed eligibility and criminality is yet to start. Just like I said, it's just a hypothesis. I keep asking people about their BGC, until the present moment, there is a correlation.

Why are you supposing something which is wrong? My bg is in progress and I called ircc today. They said criminality in progress and eligibility and security not started.

So you don't bother to call ircc and just try to draw some hypothesis based on comments here.

Could we write comments based on our own real experience? Thanks

I m not drawing a HYPOTHESIS based on comments here solely, but you're most likely right.

BG in progress can mean different things, so it will be more relevant if one says from his own experience once gcsm received or called ircc.

Call when it changes. You will find out that your eligibility is passed.

It's just a hypothesis though, but it worked for many people.

You're right it seems like false hope. I was perhaps extrapolating too much.

Just for the sake of clarification, I meant "your application is in progress" not "your BG in progress/processing your BG".

CEC, aor october 10th
MEP and BIL upadte november 20th
A few days after update of november 20th, Background changed from 'Your application is in progress " to "We are processing your backgrounf check"

I think mine is similar to yours. Was in progress and now stuck on we are processing your background check. Though I forgot to take a screenshot if it said in progress before.

I am pretty sure my initial BG check status was "we are procressing..." because I did a screenshot the moment I got the AOR e-mail, and it has not changed ever since then (I checked the status everyday). Seems like many applicants experience "in process" - "we are processing" then back to "in process" again, but mine started from "we are processing" and get stuck there. Anyway, some say that it doesn't mean a lot, so I may just keep ordering notes and get more details there. Thanks for your reply!

Yes that doesnt mean a lot, sometime files follow the "steps" and sometime don't. Sometimes people see updates after ghost update. I had three Ghost updates but nothing obvious that I can see in the profile. You re right to order gscm but be aware to wait a bit for this. I called this morning IRCC and they will send you the gcsm based on the date they receive your request. Though you will receive them only within a month.

Mine is exactly like yours. Its been “we are processing” from day 1. I know a few people who are having the same. No change from that status from day 1.
