gotta hand it to IRCC, not everyone can turn such an important milestone as becoming a citizen, which should come with pride and relief, and turn it in a nerve-racking, anxiety inducing nightmare...
I am so sorry to hear that. I sincerely hope they are able to reschedule you ASAP... like for real ASAP ...
It was expected. The applicant called IRCC and was told to wait until Monday, the day of Oath. Cannot be right. This isn't the first time this has happened with IRCC. That's why a week from the oath applicants should keep calling IRCC until they send the invitation. Different calls means different agents, and different agents have different reactions. Some are careless, while others seem more serious.
At last my Background verification has been updated to 'Completed' after 7 months. But the Prohibitions is still 'In progress'. I was under the impression that Finger Prints work for both Background verification and Prohibitions and they get updated the same time. Am I missing something?

The way i understand it, prohibitions is a final check before DM to see if anything specific has happened that prevents you from being granted citizenship....
I also thought that the 2 steps would be done together, but prohibitions is normally at the end.

something similar happened to me with the test, I only got the official invite 2 days before the window opened (even though it appeared on the tracker weeks before), although at least there you have a whole 3 weeks to do it...
Hi fam, I just attended the ceremony this morning. 9:30-11am so it wasn't too bad... 46 people were in the zoom meeting including some agents, clerk and a presiding official. IRCC sent me the Oath or Affirmation of Citizenship form to sign shortly after the ceremony and I signed and sent back within a few minutes. We were told that we will receive the citizenship certificate within 2-4 weeks then we can use it to apply for passport. I may travel in January so hopefully I will be able to get the passport in early or mid January.
I thank everyone for contributing on this forum. It's been very helpful to me. If you have not received your ceremony invite yet, I hope you will get it soon. I just submitted my parents PR application on the weekend so I will still be active on this forum. I hope everyone is staying safe and patient in this challenging time. Good luck!
I have heard nothing about date of oath. I am still waiting on an email that notifies me of the change that happened yesterday. I just happened to log in tot he checker today and it was updated today for dates of yesterday.
I think I'll join you all with calling weekly to check on oath dates! >_<

Oh, I see. I thought you are waiting the oath email because you are already scheduled for the oath. For 'decision made' they don't sent an email. The next step is to be scheduled for the oath.
