I do not think New tracker works as E-CAS. There is no DM in new tracker, but in progress until you take oath. Please correct me if I am wrong, anyone who has DM in their portal.
Good luck for interview and that is good news. At least some movement at London office.
I did my FPs in Feb 2020 and according to tracker my background was complete in March 2020 and looks like due to FPs expired, my background is again in progress
They have used some batch script to change allot of status. Even mine got Updated:April 23, 2021. I guess actually means nothing.
They had done background verification for me in Feb 27 2020 marked as complete and now again its in progress.
We are going backward.
Most annoying is they have marked Language skills as in progress too. I already submitted by IELTS report. Come on what else you need. Or whats there to check.
Feb 25, 2021 -- Background verification activity status updated

Hey I am just confused about language skills in progress mine also the same thing I submitted from celpip and expired last July 2020 I don't know how this new tracker works but we submit all the documents with the application right .if we didn't they returned to complete I guess and no test invited too
Guys, the 3 main things in the tracker are Background Check, Test and finally Oath. The other 3 things are completed with the final review of the file; whether without interview or after interview. Here is how the sequence work:
If at any stage the Background Check goes over 1 year then it goes back to "In process" and you are back into the queue again till it pass and this step is actually causing delays for a lot of older applicants as their background checks have expired and IRCC has to do them again putting them behind the line for few more months.

Many people are waiting after test. I myself gave test on March 7th and after that dead silence. No interview, no DM from old E-cas, no oath. New tracker shows in process
IMHO interview is only required when officer need to clarify something. Otherwise after BG and test officer can have final review (without interview) which leads to decision made and then finally Oath.

They are trained not to show what they are checking if the case looks straight forward. It could be identity, language, physical presence in Canada etc., There has to be something.

All adults were interviewed during in-person testing, passports were almost always checked before. The interview exemption is a new thing during the online era. My own guess is these are likely to be people who never travelled outside Canada since landing.
I had fewer than 10 travels, mostly to the US, and was still interviewed.

I was wondering if they were checking my language skills since I didn’t get a very high score on my CELPIP speaking test (hated the experience of speaking to a computer). It makes sense that they blend the real objective with other things in the interview so we don’t know what they are checking.
