Yes some nice officers do that just to confirm ambiguity. Others put comments and ask for additional documents etc. But be careful with spam etc. Call IRCC with the same number and they might help you to clear this confusion
The officer called again yesterday and it was a gap in the passport. But it was because my husband didn't leave Canada and the passport expired, so it looked like a gap but it wasn't. He said he didn't want to write a letter.

Hi everyone - I got a fingerprint request today from the Vancouver office.
Can I request the agency to instruct RCMP to send one copy to IRCC and the other copy to my mailing address? Has anyone done that? I am thinking of having one copy of the fingerprint delivered to myself, so I can also independently courier it to the Vancouver office? I am just trying to fast track in my own way
My spouse got fingerprint request not sure why not me and my daughter didn’t get the request . I am from Toronto can any tell me where should I get these fingerprints? You

UPDATE: I received request for fingerprints last night (Feb 4th), which I submitted this morning (Feb 5th). I was the only one who received the request, my spouse did not.
I used Canadian Fingerprinting Services; excellent choice for anyone who is in or near downtown Toronto. I was in and out in 10mins, with the confirmation that the prints had been sent to RCMP, and that the RCMP had cleared my background check and started the process to forward the information to IRCC.
Hi all - for those who went with the RCMP for the fingerprints, how do we know if the IRCC office processing our application (Vancouver in my case) has received the fingerprint results? The RCMP officer told me that the letter/clearance will be mailed from Ottawa to the Vancouver IRCC office. Will there be a line in ECAS online stating they have received the fingerprint results? Thanks!
