The SV has to be applied from outside Canada. It is one of the conditions of eligibility for SV.

If you are currently in Canada, and want to extend your stay, you can apply for an extension and obtain a visitor's record.

I just received an email for a request:


"Dear xxxxx xxxxx: We are ready to issue your permanent resident visa(s) for entry into Canada.


SO, I am going to Canada???

Basically they're requesting my passport, to a Visa office in my country. It says it must be valid for 12 months starting today, but mine expires in 9 months. I can apply for a new one and take it within one week, but how can i let them know that I changed my passport?
