So just called an agent, seems like eligibility is passed and criminality, security have been initiated. But what do they actually check in those steps. How long do they take to complete this? Damn!! Very disheartening.
Criminality does not take much time in many cases, it is based on your PPC, whereas Security can take up to 1-3 months depends on each application. have patience you are just a couple of steps away from the email
Guys I wrote to cpc Ottawa yesterday and got the below response.
Good day,
Please be informed that your application is currently in queue for review by an officer. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide you with a date on which your file will be reviewed.
Please be assured that you will be contacted immediately should further information be required or regarding the next steps in your file.
We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.
That statement could mean a lot of things, since there are lots of different queues. Best case would be that you have the same situation as me (all stages passed, just in a queue for the officer to do final review and send PPR), or it could be many other things.
Have you called them recently? I saw you called them back on Apr 11, so it would be fine to call them again since a month has passed.
I contacted CIC via the webform and asked for an update ( pnp-inland, AOR mid oct) and I got back from them today.
The first update says that "The initial assessment to ensure your application is complete has been finalized.". Do you guys know what does it mean? Does it just mean that I have submitted all the required documents or it means something further?
Overall, the email told me that my application is in the CIO (centeralized intake office) at Sydney and the background check is im progress.
I have hired consultancy. They ask me to wait when I asked them to go for web form. Can I do it on my own? Like till now all the communication is done by the consultancy on my application and now if I do , will it create any problem?
Hi
Today I talked to a very friendly agent, and now I know that my file " looks very well" and my VO is Montreal.
Does anybody else have his application in that center?
Besides, I was told , since my ADR was submitted on March 17 and still not reviewed , they can not send the reminder to the officer right now (in less than a month ) , but if I wouldn't get PPR in two weeks - I should call once again and they will contact the officer.
It sounds quite good to me, doe

I had called them the day before and they told me my application status is the same. Criminality passed, eligibility under review and security not started.
After this I get this email from the VO. Dunno what to think of it
In that case yes the email doesn't mean anything. You're just waiting for them to get around to looking at your file again. For whatever reason, it is taking way longer than it should for everyone.

As I understand, as soon as they touch a file, things can go really fast. 90% of time files are just waiting for an officer to proceed another step and nothing more. I'm sure that basically things like eligibility check doesn't take longer than a couple of working days for an officer. The biggest problem is that there are thousands of files to be processed, hence the normal process is not like MEP - Criminality - eligibility - review - security - decision, but most likely MEP - (waiting to be picked up) - criminality - (waiting to be picked up) - eligibility recommended passed - (waiting to be picked up) - eligibility passed - criminality initiated - (waiting to be picked up) - criminality passed - (waiting to be picked up) - file approved
