Canada Post delivered my application to Sydney Oct 28 (today) !

Hopefully, the process that should have started one year ago (before Mr. Harper's party's law) can finally get launched !!

Dear All,

I must travel for a week on December 2016 or January 2017, and I would like to travel after my oath and with my Canadian passport .

Would you pleas advice according to my timeline what is the best time to travel (December 2016, January 2017 or after):
Ottawa Office

Very unlikely with the current processing times that you will be able to take oath by January 2017. For October applicants it should be around Feb/March that we will be attending Oath ceremony. However, be mindful that you might get a Test invite in Dec/January. However, you can reschedule it by sending the IRCC office an email.

On the IRCC website it says around 12 months. But looking at the spreadsheet for the month of June-August I would say currently around 6 months for the routine applications.

So finally got access to eCas and it states that my file went into processing on October 26, 2016.

Seems Montreal is getting slower.

Richie888 I belive that Montreal does'nt have to do with you not getting the AOR. I think AOR is issued when IRCC at Sydney have actually opened your applciation and believe that all the documents are in place for Processing. Its only when it gets into processing that regional IRCC office come into effect. you should receive soon (Hopefully) as i have come across people who have received their AOR after 3 weeks. :/

one of my passport expiring on15 Jan 17, should I send it to indian embassy to renew or should I wait until process done for citizenship and Canadian passport. I am wondering if I renew in between I will have to update IRCC about new passport and it gonna delay the process. Please advice seniors & experienced.
