No one can tell you how long it would take, not even the officer. Background check consists of Security and Criminality checks, which are not performed by IRCC directly. Security checks are done by CSIS, while criminality checks are done by RCMP. It depends from case-to-case and person-to-person on how long it takes.
you are so right. called cic today. the agent told me they are finishing up background check. after that i should expect dm and oath letter...based on your comment, do you think i will also need to go through RCMP criminality check because i was asked to do finger print?

Hi there, I'm an October applicant based in Edmonton and just received my Citizenship test invite today. Could you please update the spreadsheet.
On a further note, to all those who have sate the test, the invitation letter states that i must bring "all my original documents that support your citizenship application". Does this mean passports, driving licence PR cards and the like? Obviously, the original application form was sent to the CIC.

We received FP requests in the mail on Friday March 9, despite being told it was sent via EMAIL the day before when we called to query the update in ecas.
Both went and had fingerprints done on Saturday March 10 through Commissionaires.
Here's hoping we receive our test invites soon.

Last night, I submitted a web form to CIC requesting for Urgent Processing of my citizenship application because of work related travels. Has anyone in the group requested for urgent processing? I am awaiting for my oath taking. I had my exam on Feb 16, up to now my status is still In Process.
ECAS updated with the test invite for April 18th, please update the spreadsheet, I don't see this update for my kid, I am assuming kids don't have to appear for the test that's the reason is my understanding correct?
