Hi, write "XXX" in the given name section for oci and leave it as is. On the Canadian passport application, write your full name in the full name/ surname section and leave the given name section empty. . This shouldn't be a problem as I have done the same; my given name is empty on my Canadian passport, and I have "XXX" on my OCi. It will be okay.

Did you attach any affidavit for xxx name in given name field for OCI?

Hello Everyone,

i have a question related to updation of OCI. My 5 year old have a new passport and i applied for updation of details online for his OCI. They sent me the following reply:

ALSO UPLOAD SELF DECLARATION FOR SURRENDER OF INDIAN VOTER ID AND RATION CARD ALONG WITH YOUR CURRENT PASSPORT.FOR SELF PARENTS/SPOUSE IF APPLICABLE.!!
can someone please suggest that what we have to do here? What kind of self declaration they are looking for!!

Hi, write "XXX" in the given name section for oci and leave it as is. On the Canadian passport application, write your full name in the full name/ surname section and leave the given name section empty. . This shouldn't be a problem as I have done the same; my given name is empty on my Canadian passport, and I have "XXX" on my OCi. It will be okay.
