I had the same issue. First, you need to make sure your BLO officer updates it from their side. You can find your BLO’s name online and ask someone in India to contact them. Request them to update it. Once it’s updated, it will take about two weeks to reflect in the system. I followed this process 3 week ago, and it worked for me.

Currently, patience is key.

Hi, I am facing issues in cancelling my voter id. I went to https://voters.eci.gov.in and created a profile. However when I login and try to add my EPIC number it says “mobile number is not available in E-Roll, the facility to update your mobile no is available in Form8” . Then I filled form8 and submitted it, and I see in status that “Eroll updated”. Even after this I get the same error as before. And when I try to open form7 it says your profile doesn’t have EPIC number so you cannot proceed. Not sure what to do. Please advice. Thanks!

I had the same problem few weeks ago and I managed to submit Form 7.

1. Created an overseas electors profile and added an Indian number to it (used family)
2. Submitted Form 8 to add the same number to the Eroll. Takes about 2 weeks to update.
3. Wait a day after the Form 8 update and Go to your profile in https://voters.eci.gov.in and add your EPIC (voter ID). You should get an OTP for this.
4. Submit Form7 after the profile update.

Yes, you can get it done by relative in India. I got mine done in that manner as I struggled with the online portal. Please make sure the form is filled correctly.

I didn’t get my OCI yet as I applied last week.

I cannot find my voter information anymore in the portal after cancellation.

No need to fill the form from here. Ask them to the respective government office and tell the authorities what you are looking for.
Please carry original documents for verification.

The authorities will provide the form 7 - probably they will enter it from their computer. But have your relative check all the details properly and get a copy of the form that is uploaded in the portal. The form will have the id number that you would need for tracking purpose.

Wow. Congratulations. Quick question. can we still apply without surrendering the Voter ID? My spouse voter ID is not found and she moved out of country 15years ago. Including the declaration form would be sufficient or they would come to know that we haven't actually surrendered the Voter ID??

However, when I came back home and checked the OCI tracker, there's a typo in my name in the tracker. Do I need to get it corrected or is it just an issue on the confirmation receipt and shouldn't affect my OCI application?

My minor child and I both had Acknowledgment date of 9th Jan, same as yours.
Both our OCI's dispatched from MEA on 2nd April.
My child's OCI was received at Ottawa on 2nd April itself and delivered to home on 4th April.
Mine doesn't have a delivered at Ottawa date and not delivered at home. Dunno why the difference even though both applications were submitted and processed at the same time by MEA

Okay, its the officer who made the mistake, but it wont affect your OCI card. You can leave it asis. As Consulate prints information as per the OCI application form.

Sometimes it depends upon the clearance. Minor usually gets faster as compared to the adults. So don't worry, you will receive it.

1. While filling the application form, on the occupation category you can mention Business. And you can attach Article of Incorporation, Make sure you name is written on the Page 2 of the Article of Incorporation.
Attacha self declaration as well.

2. If its case of divorce, attaching divorce order is enough.

3. No, no self attest is required while uploading the documents. (Just upload the scanned pdf directly)

1. I already registered with "OTHERS" selected - should I redo (register again) the application?
2. This is a document request subsisting and I am still married. Just want to make sure it is the correct template.
