My OCI card is under process. I am planning to go to India on e -visa. If my OCI card is processed while i am in India and if ask someone to send the OCI card to India through mail., Can i stay in India for long time even after the Visa stay period expires? or do i need to exit India and enter with OCI card?

Mostly yes, you need to exit and re-enter on OCI. But try your luck with FRRO. Hopefully they might allow you conversion without exiting.

If your family member already has a OCI card is when you need to fill that info. In your case answer is no.

I got my draft from rbc. They first printed the draft and then wrote the full name on the draft. The guy who was servicing me didn’t know about this, and he asked a senior colleague who helped us out. Hope this helps.

Even the word Toronto can be written as Tor ( Still it is accepted)

Removed from voter id on 01-Feb-2025 ( 1 month taking time to delete ). This is hard part.
Ration card name removal within 2 days from STATE website. For all states there are dedicated website to add/delete the members

Hello Friends, I have applied for OCI on 31Jan (Toronto). I have submitted Form 7 for Voter ID surrender just before applying for OCI. My voter ID surrender application is still in progress and I am scared about it not getting cancelled before my OCI is processed.

Can anyone please give me some insight about the process? What happens if while officer picks my OCI application, voter ID is still active. Do they check the status before approving OCI? Any comment will be highly appreciated.

How is verification conducted? Did someone called your father regarding it or visited home ?
