It's been taking around 70 days from the date of ack (from past applicants) for the application to be processed + delivery to courier time.
Hope you get it before your travels!

Hi all! I’m just starting my OCI process. I have two questions

1) do we actually need to submit a letter from employer? It will be a huge pain to get it for me. Is a self declaration letter good enough?

2) do we need to include an original Canadian passport or just a photocopy will do?

They mention profession on OCI card, therefore they ask for employment letter. However I have seen some people submitting a declaration because they were self employed.

This was in Toronto BLS office.

Congrats! Did you see a "Processing at Consulate General" status on BLS tracking page anytime?
I applied at Vancouver walkin on JUly 19 and BLS showed UNDER PROCESS and on Aug 19 it changed to "Processing at Consulate General". However OCI website shows NO RECORD FOUND till today.
Any advice on what i should do about the NO RECORD FOUND or what stage is my application in? Too confused and anxious. I have emailed BLS, CGI and Vancouver BLS but no response.

Hi. Yes i saw processing at consulate message in bls website. I also emailed oci Vancouver , make sure your subject says “URGENT **** application number and full name” . They responded within 30 minutes saying normal processing time is 3 months and advised to check oci tracking. Hopefully you get it asap. Good luck

Can anyone please help me with the following queries?

1. Format for "Professional details of the applicant ". what exactly is expected?
2. Does photos required on No objection certificate for minor needs to be of same size as on the OCI form? ( 2 inch x 2 inch (51 mm x 51 mm)

Has anyone recently submitted a postal application with Vancouver? The online form already includes the uploaded picture. Should I still paste a photograph? Do I need to send a physical photo, or is uploading it online sufficient?

You need to send physical photo as well

Yes. You have to submit it with a physical photograph.
They might use the uploaded one and return the physical photograph (happened in my case), but you still have to submit a physical photo with the application.
