Hello everyone, any tips for BLS Brampton location OCI application please. Are they allowing walkin or appointment only ? No appointments showing until end of April. Any idea when new slots open up ? Also if walkin is allowed, what time can one go to get in their application in person ? Thank you in advance.
Try to book an appointment in other category.
I took the appointment for Visa at Toronto location, since OCI slots were not available.
Guard asked me about my passport at the entrance and I was allowed inside. Once you are inside, you are good.
Otherwise, people go as early as 5 am for walkin. Since they entertain about 20 people for walkin.
Walk-in with an appointment, Toronto BLS, 12th Mar 2024 (Single application).
BLS status, 13th March: underprocess
BLS status, 14th March: Processing at Consulate General
OCIServices website status, 27th March: UNDER-PROCESS (shows 'Date of Ack' as 27th March)
Did anyone experience “Pending” status for a long time?
Though I included a copy of birth certificate in my child’s OCI application, I received an email from BLS stating I had to send the birth certificate.
I emailed it right away but it’s been over 10 days and no change to the status. So frustrating!

BLS is being lazy to pick it up from CGI. Normally you should have it in hand by now. Call BLS and check.

Things have changed quite a bit at BLS Brampton.
First day I went at 3.. i had around 40sh people lined up ahead of me around 20 behind me!
second day at 2:30 again 30sh people ahead
thirD day 2 o clock.. I was around 20 sh.. however there was a fight broke out and they closed BlS and called the police.
third day I went 1:30 and got in. I was at 15 th spot.
best time to start line up is at 1’o clock. They take around 5 people at a time. 30 mins!
People do complain to embassy but the number is quite less for them to take action.
obviously high rating of google reviews also is big factor in not taking action
Last I visited for picking up surrender certificate in Jan, it was all sorted. I reached around 4 PM, no line, directly walked inside and pick up my certificate.
Was thinking of doing same for OCI and hence I opted for pick up.

For Toronto, should I add 15-20 days from today to receive the OCI document in hand?

Total of exactly 8 weeks from the application date of Feb 1st in Toronto BLS. Cheers.

@nishant872 : do not worry, I too did a postal application in similar timeline but no update yet, seems the BLS process is too slow and unable to handle volumes, you should give them a call on Monday the 2nd of April to follow up
