Also, since we wont be here to receive the OCI, how should we handle that situation?

i called bls to check this situation, they told purplator will attempt delivery and if no one at home they will hand over package to bls and you can collect from us.

few more changes have taken place

as mentioned earlier fees has dropped slightly , so make sure correct draft

we need to include marriage certificate copy and upload that document as well

parents need to include the copy of marriage certificate as well and upload on application.


Not sure which direction BLs is heading because dealing with middlemen and not Consulate is giving me same feel like I am back to same old rigid middle men indian culture

OCI card has been dispatched from MEA (Delhi) on 29 dec 2023, but not received at Toronto yet. What is the reason for delay? How to get the information for the same? Please help me

This is for both minor and adult application we need to add marriage certificate

You wont believe if single we have to attach self declaration that as of date of application we are single (this is height of non sense)

These are drastic changes. When I applied no marriage certificate was needed even if you married.

Yes, because now i see date of marriage registration for adult applicants and i was like why they need this info and how they will verify it so i called and asked to confirm.

Any applicants now submitting just be conscious of these new changes around Dec 31 cut off.

I just Join and I applied OCI for my son. (BLS Brampton-Postal Application)
BLS Application date: 30/oct/2023
ACK high commission Date: 02/Dec/2023
Its in UNDER PROCESS.
My flight to India on 22/Jan/24. Is it possible to get OCI on Hand before that date??? or I can Apply E-tourist visa??? please Guide me. what if u got OCI on hand and u also have E-visa with you. is there any issues if u have two visas??? please let me know. thanks

adults checklist had marriage certificate as requirements in sept-oct as well.

for minor also you need to upload. Some of it is bls creating chaos to earn more money than basic $7.
Part of it is to ensure both parents support oci application. Reason for this is they do not want single separated parent to apply and to take to India w/o permission of other parent.

Yes but adult checklist had marriage certificates in cases where you had OCI based on spouse Indian Origin. In that case certificate has to be attested by half of the world.
