Went to BLS Toronto today at 2.30 PM to request hold on courier for OCI (instead of sending by courier) once they receive it there.
They were processing appointments and walk-ins till 4.15 PM.

The gentleman at BLS counter who helped me was very nice and got the courier on hold. Now let see if it reaches there on Monday or Tuesday.

I am not convinced about the delay because of overwhelming applications they received around 22nd September. A reasonable delay could be justified for applicants applied after 25th because a lot of them decided to apply for OCI after visa suspension news broke and panic mode activated . Applicants on 22nd were preparing for OCI at least a week prior to suspension as far as I spoke to few ppl while in the queue except very few exceptions who filled up the form overnight and showed up at BLS. God knows what’s happening in backend
Hopefully everyone gets positive response soon

The consulate staff has to do both Ack process and pickup Acked applications that are ripe for approval. They could be overwhelmed by having to review and Ack recent influx of applications. So, unless the consulate has allocated more resources for OCI processing, some slowdown is inevitable. On top of that there have been three holidays, including two long weekends, in October. Hope the timeline stays close to what we have been seeing.

I really really really hope they catch up and start processing faster.. My only hope is this OCI with flights booked for 10th Nov as for Evisa I am not sure why they are not opening.. I have raised so many requests on twitter too with #RestoreEvisa sent so mails to consulates MP's but no use n no response.. I dnt know what else can I do

Thanks for sharing this -- no one who did something like this with BLS Toronto office had reported back on it yet. Good to know they were helpful. Now keep fingers crossed.

Hi, no they didn't send my application back I sent an email to brampton.p@blsinternational.net and I just got their reply back at 5:45 pm that my signatures are missing on last (declaration) page of application.

All dates are as it appears in the status sites which is EDT for BLS, IST for govt site (OCI status url). However most updates have happened before 2:30pm EDT so there is no difference. A few cases which got updated after 2:30pm have a note in the comment column.
