Hello all, a quick question. After recieving your surrender certificate, while applying for OCI which all original documents do you need to provide. in the website it mentions that you need to send in your original indian passport and original canadian passport. After surrendering your original indian passport you wont be indian passport, so its just photocopy which i have. Also while applying by post do you need to send in original canadian passport, or an attested copy of canadian passport would do

Just photocopy . You don’t need any originals .

I had opted to pick up the OCI in person from the Brampton office. The current application status on BLS site now says the below. So does it mean it is ready for pick up?
If this doesn’t mean ready for pick up can someone tell me what will this change to for me to go and pickup?

Information about RFP Tenders for outsourcing Visa/Passport/OCI services.
- A new tender was released on 23 May 2023
- Award of new contract was supposed to be on 27 Jul 2023

We are on similar timelines. You should get your date of acknowledgement either today or next week.

It would take another month from the date of acknowledgement to get your OCI if everything is in order
