Under OCI-Form-Filling-Instructions; I read .. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS BORN IN COUNTRIES OTHER THAN INDIA & CANADA .. Applicant must have at least 6 months older Valid Canadian Status and also provide Birth Certificate

I m born in UAE.

I recently got my Canadain citizenship.

Would I have to wait for 6 months to apply for OCI? Also do i need to provide a copy of my Birth Certificate when applying?

Was anyone here on a similar boat?

Got it, thanks! I had been checking status only on BLS website until now. The OCI website shows date of acknowledgement as 31 Jan

The birth certificate is required for minor applicants only..

Now if your kids were born in UAE you need to include the UAE issued birth certificate (english one) plus the CGI, DXB or HCI AUH issued letter certifying that they were born to Indian parents having so an so passport...

what was the draft value that u sent?

@onkar112 , I had sent 2 drafts - one to CGI Toronto for about $375 and second to BLS for about $7.50. I paid the $30 purolator drop off fees online but now I'm wondering if I have to pay purolator again coz my originals (indian and canadian passport, citizenship certificate and surrender certificate) were delivered last week. I am not sure if OCI booklet delivery is also included in the first payment.
