Hello, I am filling the online form for surrender application. It asks to input the Spouse - First and Last name. Now, my spouse's name - "first and last name" both are specified in given name field in Indian Passport & last name field is empty.
Shall I use the same format as per Indian Passport for my spouse name? Eventually, we want to update the spouse's passport to split the first and last name. But for my application, I am wondering if I should split the spouse's name now or just continue using the name as per Indian Passport?
For Surrender, go with same name as written in the Indian PP as I did the same for Surrender application & the Surrender cert, which you will receive will have full name.
And when applying for OCI you can then use new name as per Canadian PP and name change certificate from the province.

How many days after the OCI service Acknowledgement did you receive the original documents back? or was it returned to you during the walk-in appointment itself?

How many days after the OCI service Acknowledgement did you receive the original documents back? or was it returned to you during the walk-in appointment itself?
Walk-ins - they mostly do not check the originals in the first place, and even if they do then they return it on the spot.
Mail-ins - Its my understanding that BLS no more requires originals to be sent in. However, rules change frequently, so if any forum member knows for a fact that its required, then please correct me.

I am surprised, I sent my docs to BLS on March 18, it reached there march 19 but on BLS it was ack on March 23rd or around.
It became under process on the OCI MEA website just on April 20. As of today still under process.
How many days does it take from under process to printing in the OCI website?

From BLS to CGI 10 to 14 days acknowledgement
From CGI acknowledgment to Get processed 30 days ( If originals surrendered will get it within a week from the date of acknowledgment)
